Conference: Sunday Feb. 16th – Wednesday Feb 19th
Joint Recruitment: Thursday, February 20th
Get ready for a trip to the Northwoods for the annual NLOMA Conference happening February 16-19, 2025 at Camp Luther in Three Lakes Wisconsin. Check-In begins at 2pm.
Come out for a week of personal and professional growth. The theme for the week is UNDIGNIFIED where we will spend a “week at camp” in Bible study, activities, and fellowship. We will dig into scripture, seeing David interacting with the Arc of the Covenant. In this scripture we see a story of fear of the Lord, but also Joy and praise in His presence where we are. There may be times when we question our role in ministry and what we do, but our God has a plan set before us. A plan of hope and faith. We just need to trust the process and trust in Him. This week is set up to bring us back to what brought us into ministry in the first place. So join us as we dance and rejoice together the plans that God has laid before us and that He is here present with us everywhere we go!
Joint Recruitment will follow on Thursday, February 20th.
Important Conference Information:
Conference Pricing:
- Conference only: $250 per person
- Conference and Joint Recruitment: $290 per person
- Non-NLOMA Members: +$100 to the base conference rate
We want to see you at the conference! Camp Luther is intentionally subsidizing the cost of this year’s conference to keep the base rate as low as possible, both to help with additional travel costs to the Northwoods of Wisconsin, but also to encourage as many of our NLOMA friends as possible to make it to the conference.
Emerging Leaders: The Emerging Leader Grant exists to help people interested in outdoors ministry as a profession attend the annual NLOMA conference at a reduced rate. Learn more about this grant and apply.
Conference Housing Options:
Retreat Center: The main housing location for the conference will be Camp Luther’s Retreat Center, which provides dorm-style housing with shared community bathrooms. Each bedroom contains two twin beds and a single twin bunk bed, and for the conference we will house 2-3 people per room. A limited number of single rooms are available, for an additional charge of $200/person (Conference Only) or $250/person (Conference and Joint Recruitment).
- Make sure to list requested roommates as a part of the registration process! If you do not provide roommate options, we will select them for you.
- There will only be a limited number of single rooms available in the Retreat Center. If you would like a private room, another option is to reserve one of Camp Luther’s cottages. (A great option for families or small groups who want to stay together!)
Cottages: Camp Luther has 12 cottages available to reserve for the conference that are similar to staying in your own airbnb. Each of their 2 or 3-bedroom cottages includes a full kitchen, living area, and bathroom. Rates for cottages are on a per night basis, and you can split the cost between the different members of your group. Cottages can comfortably house between 4-8 people depending on the specific cottage layout.
- To reserve a cottage, register for the conference at the normal base rate. You can then contact Camp Luther directly (715-546-3647) to book a cottage for your group.
- All cottage fees will be in addition to the base conference rate, but the cost for the cottage only needs to be paid by one member of your group.
- 2-Bedroom Cottage = $150/night
- 3-Bedroom Cottage = $180/night
- Find out more information about Camp Luther’s cottages here.

Travel:
If you are planning to fly to the conference and will need a shuttle from the airport, please communicate with Shuphyl prior to booking your flights. (confchairodd@nloma.org) Shuttle options will be limited.
Airport Hub options:
- Rhinelander Airport: RHI is The closest airport option and is only about 30 minutes from Camp Luther. This is a small city airport and likely will be the priciest option. Shuttles will be available to Camp Luther.
- Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA)-Mosinee: CWA is 2 hours from Camp Luther. Shuttles will be available to Camp Luther.
- Green Bay/Appleton Airports: GBR and ATW are around 2.5 hours from Camp Luther. We will have only limited shuttles available. (But hey, you can check out Lambeau Field!)
- Other Options: Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) and Milwaukee (MKE) are the closest major airport options. Each is a 4-5 hour drive to Camp Luther. If you choose one of these options you should plan on renting a vehicle to travel to camp or coordinating a ride with a camp that is driving to the conference. If there is a large enough group, we may also help coordinate a group shuttle option. Please be sure to communicate before finalizing any travel plans into these locations because it will take more planning for both arrival and departure.
NOTE: if you are driving for the conference and will be passing by any of the above airport locations (and have extra room in your vehicle),let us know! We will be working to coordinate rides for individuals flying to the conference.

Housing:
Retreat Center
The Camp Luther Retreat Center sleeps up to 140 with two twin beds and one bunk in each room. For the purposes of this conference we will not be housing 4 people per room, so no one has to sleep on a top bunk (unless you want to). Each wing has two large common bathrooms with privacy stalls and showers. Large meeting areas with fireplaces are located on each level and cozy fireside rooms and outdoor porches provide a wonderful setting for smaller breakout groups.
Cottages
All cottages are located on the shores of Range Line Lake. They have both two-bedroom and three-bedroom cottages, which all come complete with a furnished living room, kitchen area (equipped with refrigerator, stove, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker), and a bathroom with shower. For more information about the Camp Luther Cottages head on over to https://campluther.com/book-a-cottage where you can find pictures of the cottages.

Activities
Camp Luther has a myriad of winter activities onsite which could include: snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on one of many onsite trails, tubing on one of their 4 tubing runs, and broomball.
Off-site you could enjoy snowmobiling in the Northwoods. Just 10-15 minutes north of Camp Luther is Eagle River which happens to be the Snowmobile capital of the world!! Downtown shopping and breweries are also available in Eagle River. Three Lakes has a winery and local coffee shops that are also only a short drive away.
Weather
Expect cold, and expect snow. Make sure to bring warm socks, and many layers. Most outdoor walking paths between buildings will be shoveled and cleared, but if you go beyond that you may want heavier shoes/boots. Look ahead before you travel just to be sure. We will be sure to post weather updates as we get closer as well!
Food, allergies, and dietary restrictions
If you have any food allergies/dietary restrictions, it is important to communicate that information to us ahead of time. Camp Luther is able to accommodate common dietary restrictions by providing gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options, but if you have significant food allergies or more complex dietary restrictions, please contact Camp Luther’s Food Service Manager at kitchen@campluther.com so that they can work with you to successfully meet your needs while at camp.
Can’t wait to see you all in Wisconsin this February!
