Summer Camp Employment

Why Serve at a Camp?

This summer you could pump gas, wait tables, or flip burgers or you could:

  • Live, play, and work in God’s creation
  • Help children, youth and adults grow in their faith in Jesus Christ
  • Get paid to do stuff you love--like sailing, hiking, swimming, playing basketball, even whitewater rafting and more . . .
  • Make friends from around the country
  • Spend your summer in some of the greatest places in the U.S.
  • Reflect the love of Jesus Christ to others!
  • All while you earn money!

Lutheran summer camps are a great place to serve others and enjoy God’s creation, all while you collect a pay check. Plus, camp jobs will give you skills future employers love to see, as well as experiences that develop leadership, responsibility, maturity, and more. You may even choose to earn college credit.  Click here to get the details on college credit! (PDF).

We Want to Help You get the Best Opportunity to Serve at a Lutheran Summer Camp

Participating camps will employ over 700 students this coming summer.  The time of service will vary from 6-12 weeks, the average is 10 weeks.  All summer staff receive free meals and lodging for the duration of their employment.  All summer staff also receive a cash salary (the amount varies from camp to camp, responsibilities and length of service.)

We want to help you work at a Lutheran camp this summer! There are nearly 30 NLOMA Partner Camps participating in a joint effort to recruit and hire summer staff workers!

The camps pool resources to conduct interviews and receive applications from applicants from across the country.  Through this process you will have the opportunity to select your camp and job preferences.  While applications are now being accepted, camps will not begin offering positions until mid-February.
